ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) electrodes are used to measure a chemical reaction in which one species is being oxidized and another is being reduced. The loss of electrons by an element or compound is known as oxidation reaction while the gaining of electrons by an element or compound is known as reduction reaction. For example, plating companies that have hexavalent chromium (Cr6+) in their wastewater must reduce it to a safer trivalent chromium (Cr3+) form. This reduction reaction occurs in the presence of a strong reductant such as sodium metabisulfite. The addition of the reductant must be measured with an ORP electrode to ensure that there is an adequate reducing potential. Using the HI7091L reducing pretreatment solution prior to taking a measurement provides for a faster response time in a reducing environment. To use, soak the ORP electrode in the pretreatment solution for 15 minutes prior to use. As a general rule, if the mV reading corresponding to the pH measurement is lower than the value in the table below the reducing pretreatment solution (HI7091) is used. If the mV reading corresponding to the pH measurement is higher than the value in the table below then the oxidizing pretreatment (HI7092) should be used.

    Conductivity (EC) Controller (0.0 - 199.9 µS/cm) - BL983320-1 | 115/230VAC

    734.00 AED
The BL983320 is a compact, panel mounted, process controller for measuring electrolytic conductivity (EC) of a process stream that is within the 0.0 to 199.9 µS/cm range. The device features a large LCD with protective cover. Users may choose from automatic or manual dosing modes. When in automatic mode the dry contact relay is activated when a reading is above the set point. The relay can be used to activate a solenoid that switches from one DI (deionized) tank to another or to open a valve that will allow lower EC water to flow into a tank being monitored in order to lower its EC. The BL983320 can also be used to monitor the quality of water produced from ion exchange, reverse osmosis (RO) or distillation. Multicolor LED Indicator LED changes color based on status. Fire Retardant Casing For additional safety the controllers outer case is made of fire resistant plastic. Splash Resistant Cover A clear plastic cover protects the face panel from dirt and liquids.
