HI703004L Pool Line Electrode Storage Solution is a specially formulated storage solution for the proper maintenance of pH and ORP probes when not in use. To optimize the response time it is important to keep the pH bulb hydrated. It is also important to keep the junction of both pH and ORP probes hydrated. All electrodes have a junction that is an electrical pathway between the solution tested and an inner electrode. Keeping this junction hydrated keeps the junction free flowing, which provides for faster and more stable readings.
For process probes the HI703004L should be used to rehydrate the electrode after cleaning the oils and lotions that will coat the sensors over time. After using a cleaning solution the probe should be placed in storage solution for 15 minutes to allow for the hydration layer to reform. After the probe is rehydrated then a calibration must be performed.
A well-maintained swimming pool, hot tub, or spa starts with accurate readings and the proper storage of a pH/ORP electrode is required to ensure maximum performance and long life.
