Significance of Use

Nitrogen is abundant in the Earth’s atmosphere and is present in water in the form of nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia. Plants use nitrogen as a nutrient to build proteins by tracking it in through their root system. Nitrate is formed in water mainly through rainfall, decomposition of organic matter, and runoff from manmade pollutants such as sewage waste and fertilizers. Almost all surface waters have a measurable level of nitrate, and a moderate amount is considered beneficial. Large amounts of nitrate, however, can lead to eutrophication which may result in decreased levels of dissolved oxygen in the water.

HI7061L General Purpose Cleaning Solution (500 mL)

61.00 AED
HI7061L is a general purpose cleaning solution that can be used for a variety of applications. Electrodes can become dirty from use and will produce inaccurate results even as they read correctly in a pH buffer. Hanna’s cleaning solutions eliminate impurities and residues that are left on electrode surfaces when immersed in samples during measurement or when stored incorrectly. Hanna suggests cleaning the bulb and junction of your electrode on a regular basis to ensure that the probe is always clean and to prevent any clogging of the junction.
  • Specially formulated for cleaning electrodes
  • Air tight seal to ensure quality
  • Expiration date and lot number

HI70300L Electrode Storage Solution (500 mL)

59.00 AED
HI70300L is a storage solution prepared with reagent grade chemicals that can be used to ensure optimum performance of your pH and ORP electrodes. It is necessary to store a pH electrode in a solution in order to keep the glass membrane of the pH electrode hydrated. Ideally a storage solution should be used; never store an electrode in distilled or deionized water. The Hanna Instruments storage solution is specifically formulated to minimize microbial growth and to prevent any effects of diffusion/osmotic from storing a probe in a solution with the highly concentrated inner reference electrolyte. Storing your pH and/or ORP electrodes in a storage solution will also keep the junction clear. Maintaining the hydrated layer and clear junction will help to ensure a fast and reliable measurement. In the case of cleaning your pH electrode in one of our cleaning solutions, we recommend soaking the electrode in the HI70300L storage solution for at least one hour before taking measurements.
  • Special formulation to minimize microbial growth and osmotic/diffusion effects between the solution and inner reference electrolyte
  • Manufactured specifically for pH and ORP electrodes
  • Clearly marked expiration date and lot number
