Chemical test kits have limited accuracy and resolution since they rely upon the human eye to discern differences in color. Professional instrumentation incorporates a light source such as an LED or tungsten lamp with a filter and a light sensing detector to precisely determine absorbance and ion concentration. Professional instrumentation offers greater resolution and accuracy but can cost hundreds of dollars. The Hanna Free Chlorine Checker® uses a fixed wavelength LED and silicon photo detector to provide the accuracy of professional instrumentation at the affordable price of a chemical test kit.

The HI701 Checker®HC (Handheld Colorimeter) is a simple, accurate and cost effective way to measure free chlorine. Free chlorine is the active form of chlorine used for disinfection of drinking water, swimming pools and spas, and vegetable rinse water. Free chlorine in water is also harmful to a reverse osmosis membrane and needs to be monitored for removal from source water prior to being used. The HI1285-7 is a 3-in-1 pre-amplified multiparameter probe that measures pH, EC/TDS, and temperature within a single polypropylene body. HI80300L Electrode Storage Solution in FDA Bottle (500 mL)

HI80300L is a storage solution that is supplied in an FDA compliant bottle. It is prepared with reagent grade chemicals that can be used to ensure optimum performance of your pH and ORP electrodes. It is necessary to store a pH electrode in a solution in order to keep the glass membrane of the pH electrode hydrated. Ideally a storage solution should be used; never store an electrode in distilled or deionized water. The Hanna Instruments storage solution is specifically formulated to minimize microbial growth and to prevent any effects of diffusion/osmotic from storing a probe in a solution with the highly concentrated inner reference electrolyte. Storing your pH and/or ORP electrodes in a storage solution will also keep the junction clear. Maintaining the hydrated layer and clear junction will help to ensure a fast and reliable measurement. In the case of cleaning your pH electrode in one of our cleaning solutions, we recommend soaking the electrode in the HI80300L storage solution for at least one hour before taking measurements.
