Low Range 20 Titrant for Titratable Acidity in Dairy Mini Titrator – HI84529-50

The HI84529-50 is a 120 mL bottle of titration solution for the Low Range 20   range of the HI84529 Titratable Acidity Mini Titrator for Dairy Analysis. The HI84529 mini titrator measures acidity in two different ranges (high and low), as well as offering two different sample sizes to choose from when performing a low range measurement (20 and 50). There are three different titrant solutions available based on the range to be used and the weight of the sample, each having a different concentration. The HI84529-50 is for titration in the low range (0.01 to 0.20 %l.a.) using a 20 mL or 20 g sample. The titrant is pre-standardized, eliminating the need for any volumetric glassware or a analytical balance and making titrations fast, accurate, and simple to perform.

The HI84529-50 is a 120 mL bottle of alkaline titrant solution used for the Low Range 20 range that determines 0.01 to 0.20% lactic acid in dairy products. The methodology for titratable acidity in dairy products is based on a neutralization reaction of the acids in a sample (e.g., lactic acid) with a base (e.g., sodium hydroxide) to produce water:H++OH → H2OIn an ideal solution, the endpoint of an acid titration corresponds stoichiometrically to the complete neutralization of the acids present. The endpoint for this reaction can be determined visually using a color indicator (e.g., phenolphthalein); however, this endpoint becomes very subjective in opaque and colored samples such as milk. The HI84529 removes this issue by titrating to a fixed pH endpoint that is potentiometrically determined by the FC260B half-cell pH electrode and HI5315 half-cell reference electrode.Replacement reagents required to operate the HI84529 include:

Low Range 20 (LR 20) – %l.a.: 0.01 to 0.20 Low Range 50 (LR 50) – %l.a.: 0.01 to 0.20 High Range 20 (HR 20) – %l.a.: 0.1 to 2.0

HI7061L General Purpose Cleaning Solution (500 mL)

61.00 AED
HI7061L is a general purpose cleaning solution that can be used for a variety of applications. Electrodes can become dirty from use and will produce inaccurate results even as they read correctly in a pH buffer. Hanna’s cleaning solutions eliminate impurities and residues that are left on electrode surfaces when immersed in samples during measurement or when stored incorrectly. Hanna suggests cleaning the bulb and junction of your electrode on a regular basis to ensure that the probe is always clean and to prevent any clogging of the junction.
  • Specially formulated for cleaning electrodes
  • Air tight seal to ensure quality
  • Expiration date and lot number

HI70300L Electrode Storage Solution (500 mL)

59.00 AED
HI70300L is a storage solution prepared with reagent grade chemicals that can be used to ensure optimum performance of your pH and ORP electrodes. It is necessary to store a pH electrode in a solution in order to keep the glass membrane of the pH electrode hydrated. Ideally a storage solution should be used; never store an electrode in distilled or deionized water. The Hanna Instruments storage solution is specifically formulated to minimize microbial growth and to prevent any effects of diffusion/osmotic from storing a probe in a solution with the highly concentrated inner reference electrolyte. Storing your pH and/or ORP electrodes in a storage solution will also keep the junction clear. Maintaining the hydrated layer and clear junction will help to ensure a fast and reliable measurement. In the case of cleaning your pH electrode in one of our cleaning solutions, we recommend soaking the electrode in the HI70300L storage solution for at least one hour before taking measurements.
  • Special formulation to minimize microbial growth and osmotic/diffusion effects between the solution and inner reference electrolyte
  • Manufactured specifically for pH and ORP electrodes
  • Clearly marked expiration date and lot number
