The HI84530-51 is a 120 mL bottle of alkaline titrant solution that is used for high range (300 to 4000 mg/L as CaCO3) determination of acidity in water. The HI84530 mini titrator is designed to determine the acidity of waters by potentiometric titration in both a low range (15 to 400 mg/L as CaCO3) and high range (300 to 4000 mg/L as CaCO3). Both total and strong acidity can be determined by the HI84530. If the measured pH is lower than 3.7 both total and strong acidity can be determined. If the sample is greater than pH 3.7 then only total acidity can be determined. The endpoint of an acid base titration corresponds to the complete neutralization of the acids present. Water acidity results from strong and weak acids as well as from the hydrolysis of salts. Due to these more complex mixtures, endpoints for water acidity are arbitrarily fixed on practical considerations. Unpolluted surface waters contain carbon dioxide as the main acidic component, and titration of these samples corresponds to the stoichiometric neutralization of carbonic acid with sodium hydroxide. The titration to pH 8.3 represents total acidity. The titration to pH 3.7 represents strong acidity from polluted water. If the samples are suspected to contain hydrolyzable salts or polyvalent cations (such as chromium, iron, manganese), it is necessary to pretreat the samples with HI84530-60 reagent.

Replacement reagents required to operate the HI84530 include:

Low Range – 15 to 400 mg/L as CaCO3 High Range – 300 to 4000 mg/L as CaCO3

HI7061L General Purpose Cleaning Solution (500 mL)

61.00 AED
HI7061L is a general purpose cleaning solution that can be used for a variety of applications. Electrodes can become dirty from use and will produce inaccurate results even as they read correctly in a pH buffer. Hanna’s cleaning solutions eliminate impurities and residues that are left on electrode surfaces when immersed in samples during measurement or when stored incorrectly. Hanna suggests cleaning the bulb and junction of your electrode on a regular basis to ensure that the probe is always clean and to prevent any clogging of the junction.
  • Specially formulated for cleaning electrodes
  • Air tight seal to ensure quality
  • Expiration date and lot number

HI70300L Electrode Storage Solution (500 mL)

59.00 AED
HI70300L is a storage solution prepared with reagent grade chemicals that can be used to ensure optimum performance of your pH and ORP electrodes. It is necessary to store a pH electrode in a solution in order to keep the glass membrane of the pH electrode hydrated. Ideally a storage solution should be used; never store an electrode in distilled or deionized water. The Hanna Instruments storage solution is specifically formulated to minimize microbial growth and to prevent any effects of diffusion/osmotic from storing a probe in a solution with the highly concentrated inner reference electrolyte. Storing your pH and/or ORP electrodes in a storage solution will also keep the junction clear. Maintaining the hydrated layer and clear junction will help to ensure a fast and reliable measurement. In the case of cleaning your pH electrode in one of our cleaning solutions, we recommend soaking the electrode in the HI70300L storage solution for at least one hour before taking measurements.
  • Special formulation to minimize microbial growth and osmotic/diffusion effects between the solution and inner reference electrolyte
  • Manufactured specifically for pH and ORP electrodes
  • Clearly marked expiration date and lot number
