The HI38017-200 are replacement reagents for the colorimetric determination of free and total chlorine with the HI38017 Free and Total Chlorine Low and Medium Range Test Kit. There are enough reagents for approximately 200 tests to be used with Hanna’s test kit. These high quality reagents are manufactured in our state-of-the-art facility and are clearly marked with the lot number and expiration date on each packet for traceability.

The HI38017-200 are high quality reagents that are pre-measured, allowing for users to achieve fast and accurate free and total chlorine measurements with the chemical test kit. These reagents follow the DPD (N, N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) method to determine free and total chlorine concentration.

For determination of free and total chlorine, the appropriate DPD powder reagent is added to a sample containing chlorine. The reaction between chlorine and the reagent causes a pink colored complex to form; the greater the concentration, the deeper the color. A Checker Disc is included for an accurate, side-by-side, visual analysis to determine free and total chlorine concentration. These reagents are designed to be used with low range samples that have an expected free and total chlorine range of 0.00 to 0.70 mg/L (ppm) Cl2 and medium range samples that have an expected range of 0.0 to 3.5 mg/L (ppm) Cl2.

HI70300L Electrode Storage Solution (500 mL)

HI70300L is a storage solution prepared with reagent grade chemicals that can be used to ensure optimum performance of your pH and ORP electrodes. It is necessary to store a pH electrode in a solution in order to keep the glass membrane of the pH electrode hydrated. Ideally a storage solution should be used; never store an electrode in distilled or deionized water. The Hanna Instruments storage solution is specifically formulated to minimize microbial growth and to prevent any effects of diffusion/osmotic from storing a probe in a solution with the highly concentrated inner reference electrolyte. Storing your pH and/or ORP electrodes in a storage solution will also keep the junction clear. Maintaining the hydrated layer and clear junction will help to ensure a fast and reliable measurement. In the case of cleaning your pH electrode in one of our cleaning solutions, we recommend soaking the electrode in the HI70300L storage solution for at least one hour before taking measurements.
